Leonard Cino

In 1980, while in the Navy, my CO asked if I “knew anything about computers”, I said Yes. So they sent me out for training to learn everything there was about computer systems and networks.
Using that technical experience, I was recommended for and transferred to a aircraft test squadron in the desert, where the Navy put me to work as a Technical Writer. Here I had to learn about aircraft computer systems, weapon systems and their components and how to operate them in order to write Technical Manuals that others would be able to use and understand.
Based on that; I was selected and recruited for a special program where I traveled to many different countries and worked with communications agencies providing them real-time links to the rest of the world. At one point I worked with the Space Shuttle, learning their computer systems and how they communicate along with various satellite systems. I left for my final assignment at the Navy Recruiting District Los Angles in the role of Assistant Chief Administrator and Network Admin. I designed and began implementation of networking 35 recruiting offices across Southern California, Hawaii & Guam. Additionally, I gained first-hand experience of disaster recovery for computer systems and infrastructure from the Landers/Big Bear & Northridge Earthquakes and the 1992 Los Angeles Riots.
Retiring from Active Duty in 1994, I went to work for a Network Engineering company. While there I gained over 9 years of experience in the private sector. Some of the network design projects I contributed to were: the original server farm for NBCi’s, The City of Morgan Hill’s infrastructure, the fiber back bone that connects each facility, Public Works, Police & City Hall, and The Hayes Conference Center. When the company went the way of the Dot Com’s in 2001, I started my own company, Live Tech Now and have been going strong ever since.
I earned my Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Management at the University of Phoenix 1992.
